Fluticasone – Advair is the oral powdered inhaler designed and
developed by GlaxoSmithKline-GSK for the treatment of asthma and
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD. The medication is the
corticosteroid which is inflammatory component of blend used in
preparing it with Salmeterol which effectively treats the
constriction of the airways. Like any other drugs or medications,
Advair too may cause several side effects.
Continued treatment of Fluticasone – Advair may lead to some of the
following severe but uncommon side effects: Choking or congestion of
throat, difficulty breathing, hives or rashes, swelling of lips –
tongue or face, numbness, pain, tingling of itchiness, abnormal
heartbeats, chest pains, unexpected bruising or open sores and
deteriorating breathing conditions.
If the patient reports of any of such severe symptoms, they should
immediately stop taking the medications and rush for medical
assistance and informing the doctor on priority. The medication may
also poise several other less effective symptoms but more common
side effects like: dry throat or mouth after using the drug,
hoarseness, coughing or sore throat condition, deepening of voice,
